Construction and Demolition
Construction and Demolition waste (often referred to as C&D Waste), covers waste types usually produced during building/demolition works, and are those substances used in construction. For example, concrete, wood, metal (cable/girders/pipe work), plastics, rubble. This is usually slightly cheaper to dispose of than mixed general waste, as there are usually very clear waste types, which can be more easily separated, and most of the weight is made up of waste type which are relatively straight forward to dispose of.
Types which may be describes as C&D by some, yet not usually included in the category for disposal are; hazardous waste (such as asbestos products), and plaster board (which can contaminate the whole load).
